We have been making catchments in Civil3D first and then exporting to Infodrainage. But if the catchments ever need to change , we have to change both the Civil3D catchment that houses our drainage area maps and the infodrainage inflow area. It would be convenient for them to be connected in a way where we can sync the two together and if you save in Civil3D it will update the catchment in Infodrainage.

I am pleased to announce that this is already in progress as part of our IDDA work (Integrated Drainage Design and Analysis) where we're aiming to access InfoDrainage simulation and runoff services directly from Civil 3D. This will be made available to customers in increments but until then, users will still have to make changes to the Inflow Areas and incorporate these changes in both C3D and InfoDrainage. I encourage you to utilize the GIS/CAD import/export functions within InfoDrainage to make the process easier when exporting/importing polygons between C3D and ID.
