There is no easy way to combine / merge two InfoDrainage models.
Projects of a large scale are often split up into different sites for smaller teams to analyze. When trying to analyze the entire site as a whole, these models need to be merged into one, so a single analysis can be run for the entire site.
Currently, InfoDrainage has no simple tool to merge two or multiple models into one. Functions are limited to exporting / importing each element separately. Exporting / importing of inflows, connections, junctions, SWCs all are done in isolation. This also often comes with errors and some features (such as by-pass connections with inlet/outlet information) does not have an option for importing at all.
A simple solution is to have a single tool / feature in InfoDrainage to import an entire model (with all properties and data) into your current model.

I am trying to merge two phases together and cant believe that Info Drainage doesn't have this function, another backward step from Micro Drainage. I have tried the import / export functions and these don't work.
There needs to be a way to import IDDX files into one another.
As we start investigating how we can implement this so that it meets your needs we are intending to share a first Proof of Concept with whoever would be interested on providing early feedback. If interested in being part of these, please leave a comment so we can invite you
I am happy to share that this has now been moved to "Gathering Support" for further evaluation
Thank you for providing feedback and to those who voted.
It may help if you can export a swmm5 inp file - if you want to share with others..
I agree that this is a important workflow element/function that needs to be improved in future versions of the software. I have several large developments that have different phasing and design programmes but have SW networks that are reliant on each other if not directly connected. The proposed workflow to combine multiple separate model files is cumbersome, buggy and requires a disproportional amount of manual rework in my opinion. A seamless workflow process to combine multiple models into a single file would help improve efficiency and quality on some projects.
