Built-in mapping capabilities, like PCSWMM and Civil 3D have

Other software has built-in background mapping capabilities for free, using OpenStreetMaps or Bing satellite/hybrid road maps for georeferenced models. The current capability of supporting WMS servers falls way too short and there are no free options available anymore. This should have been included ages ago.

How is this STILL not implemented yet?!

PCSWMM has literally had this feature for decades, and InfoWorks is forcing us to have an additional paid ESRI/ArcGIS licence to dynamically display background maps!

I use QGIS, which is free/unlicensed open source software, and there's an add-in where I can choose background maps from 16 different sources, with each source having multiple options (Satellite, Road, Hybrid, terrain, and even all the ESRI backgrounds).

I'm actually wondering what I might be missing because this seems like such a basic functionality that it's actually pathetic that it's still not implemented with an easy selection of all the available background maps. This should be a simple drop-down in the GIS Layer Control.

After using this software for 15+ years, I still haven't EVER been able to get WMS's to work in InfoWorks, and that's ridiculous.
