Storage nodes allow for a better schematization of large, variable size structures such as pump stations or weirs. They are missing the functionality to connect them to the 2D mesh, so flooding from those locations is not visible. Adding the option to add either a shaft between the highest level of the storage or to be able to create one in the storage array and connect that to the mesh would combine the benifit of the detailed sizing of a storage node with the 2D connection properties of a manhole.

Thank you for the suggestion and thanks to those who voted. Whilst there is a workaround to connect the storage node with a 2D node to act as a connection, I totally agree that it's a lot easier to have storage nodes talking to the mesh directly.
We will engage in consultations with a wider array of stakeholders to gauge their interest and gather additional perspectives on the proposed feature.
Should we observe a substantial level of enthusiasm and demand, we will be inclined to advance the status of this suggestion to "Under Consideration." This stage will involve a more detailed analysis, including a feasibility study, resource allocation assessment, and preliminary planning to understand how this feature could be seamlessly integrated into the software.
