Log locations that most often cause timestep halving during a simulation

The "Job Progress" window provides information of the location that cause multiple iterations or reduced time-steps in the 1D model, under the headings "Link fail H", "Link fail Q", "Node fail".

This is useful for diagnosing potential locations of instability that cause longer computation times. Unfortunately, it is only available at the instant of computation, switching between multiple locations. To identify the most problematic locations requires the user to watch these fields as they change during the simulation, and just "guess" locations that appear most often.

Is there a way of summarising these locations (perhaps in the PRN or Log file) after the simulation? Even simply highlighting the top 5 (say) most frequent locations that cause timestep halving during a given simulation would be helpful to know how to improve model stability and so reduce computation times.

As Bob suggests, this already exists. Please feel free to make further suggestions!

I may be missing something in your question but if you turn on the timestep log diagnostics (in the diagnostics) button in the run dialog you get a detailed log file showing the number of problem nodes and links.
