Removing missing GIS-layers

If a GIS-layer for a model is missing you cannot remove the reference to it because the layer isn't visible in the GIS layer control window. So you keep getting the error message each time you open the model. Why not make missing GIS-layers visible in the GIS layer control window ('greyed out' or with a suffix '(missing)' in the description). Then you can select it and remove it.

Thanks Richard, I do agree with you.

We will investigate ways to remove the reference to missing layers, the above workaround is a measure that users can benefit from until this work is prioritised and addressed. I am moving the status to "Under Consideration".

Making the messages disappear is not the same as being able to remove the reference to missing layers.

When the 'check engine' light in your car turns on, the solution is not disabling the light but fix the issue that made it turn on. The solution would be as described in the last two sentences of my original post.

So the status update to 'Already exists' is quite premature. I appreciate the fact that AutoDesk started following up on these old (2020!) idea's but this is not a satisfying way to do it.

Thanks for the comment and thanks to those who voted.

Users can go to Tools >> Options >> Geoplan >> and they can tick the following box to choose whether they want warning messges to appear or not.

Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
