The velocity parameter in a swale is an important consideration with respect to determining erosion possibility, potential swale lining requirements and help inform check-dam design & locations.
As it stands you cannot get the velocity result of flow through Swale stormwater control features. In order to overcome this you must either manually calculate it or model the swale as a trapezoidal channel, which then loses the various functionality that is there in the SWC feature (i.e. infiltration, pollution mitigation etc.). This also doubles up work associated with modelling appropriate designed swales.
Velocity results for SWC and other SuDS feature, such as swales, that convey flows from one point to another should be provided so that the results can be a 'one stop shop' and more efficient way to design.
