Demand Area Analysis was originally intended for networks where the unprofiled demand was unmetered. When domestic (unprofiled) metering became more prevalent Innovyze introduced “Current Average Specific Consumption (l/p/day)” in the calculation page of the Demand area property sheet. This enabled the user to calculate the ratio of Calculated Average Specific Consumption (l/p/day)/ Current Average Specific Consumption (l/p/day) and apply it via the demand diagram to take account of the metered demand. Where a model has many DMAs this calculation becomes tedious. Could we request that columns for Current Average Specific Consumption (l/p/day) and Calculated/Current are added to the Demand Area Grid? In addition a facility to add the ratio to the demand diagram for each area would be ideal.

Hi Nathan,
I am not sure what is meant by "Scale Existing Demand". Does it mean that the meter reading data in the network is changed to a different value breaking the link between the imported data and the network? Or is an external factor applied as in my requirement?
I do not have access to 2024.5 as I work in a more advisory role leaving the 2024 licences to the modellers.
Kind regards
Tom

Thank you for your recommendation and explanation.
In version 2024.5 we added an option to Demand Area Analysis when updating the Network and Demand Diagram to "Scale existing demand". This way any metered unprofiled demand will keep its original relative magnitude (e.g. some large customers and some small usage customers based on billing data), and scale up the total to match the new results of Demand Area Analysis.
Does this feature help resolve your workflow? Or is something else needed?
