Currently a user would need to define a subcatchment to generate runoff for a river reach. This is okay for 1D models but for 1D/2D models, especially 2d runoff models it adds some additional steps for the user. It would be nice for add a 'apply rainfall' option to the river reaches which users could then enable as required.
This could either simply assume 100% runoff, or do a more sophisticated calculation based on the water surface area.

This is a great idea, I have discussed this with the dev team and we agreed to move the status of this to "Under Consideation". In this stage, we will assess the feasibility and the effort of implementing this improvement.
