License management functions

As ICM is fundamentally a workgroup environment, so shared across multiple offices and multiple users, we need to be able to understand license usage of user interfaces and simulation engines. We need ICM to log usage so we can then develop tools to interpret that information or build this into ICM so we can see usage. We often have instances when users cannot get licenses but there is no way to log this so we can establish a business case for purchasing more licenses. Similar with simulation engines we need to be able to report usage to demonstrate the need to invest in more processing ability/licenses. Ideally we need ICM to log usage: username license type (Viewer/1D/2D/sim etc) start of session end of session total licenses in use We can then use this information to generate live reports for users and managers of the system and provide forecasts in demand Thanks

Marking this idea completed.   With the introduction of the Innovyze License Administrator, users and administrators can get license usage. With named-user licensing in the Autodesk subscription world, including the introduction in March 2022 of Flex Access, accessing InfoWorks ICM is far easier and in reach to more customers.

I agree with both the initial suggestion and the comments, and would encourage any such licensing changes be applied to all Innovyze products. I am especially interested in InfoWorks WS Pro, with similar requirements to those highlighted for ICM.

Could we request that you also add the ability for Amins to Disconect / clear a session within the new Thales soft licensing system that will eventually replace the FLM, as can be done within our ACC Sentinel LDK license system. Although we wish as an organisation wish to move to soft licensing we currenly as a result of requiring the ability to reset a session when a user either forgets to close a session or goes off ill

Great idea, and it will help consultants and utility owners justify purchasing more licenses! I would add that often the Network License is setup by an IT person that may need this information, but isn't in a position to regularly manage or monitor usage. It would be good for this info to be available to users, or at least some users that know about it, who can then monitor usage and relay it to IT and/or procurement.
