Support for overlapping roughness zones in 2D

I have a model that has masses of roughness polygons. invariably some of these overlap. I also have overlapping roughness zones where I have 'donut' features. My life would be SO much easier if meshing didn't fail when the roughness zones overlap. Can we p[ease have the restriction on these relaxed? If we have to specify a priority then that would be acceptable. It doesn't seem to be a problem with HEC-RAS or TUFLOW.... :-)

A roughness priority field has been added to allow overlapping polygons. This is available in 2023.2.

It will be convenient if InfoWorks supports creating a roughness zone layer similar to HEC-RAS Mapper in which a NLCD (or any type land cover) raster file can be imported and a manning's n can be assigned to different land covers.

This has causes significant issues when there are lots of roughness zones with complex geometry. In many causes the geometry is valid in an external GIS but causes meshing issues in ICM. It would also be very helpful to be able to import roughness information from raster format (asc or geotiff) as this tends to be the source format of landuse information covering large area
