The GeoPackage format is gradually replacing Shapefile in the vector data of the IGN (French National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information): article dated 20 January 2025 from the IGN

Already available for BD CARTO® and BD TOPO®, the GeoPackage format is gradually replacing Shapefile, primarily for OCS GE data and BD ORTHO® mosaic graphs.

    Thank you for raising this and thanks to those who voted, I will progress the status of this to "Gathering Support" so we can gauge the interest from the wider ICM community.
