Would be nice if you could just the ICM "New section view" tool used for view flood results without a DEM loaded on to the screen - the tool is still useful with a DEM as can view the mesh level and flood level. Sometimes I want to use this tool but don't have a DEM in the database and need to import a fake one to be able to use it, which is annoying.
The brown ground model display could also be improved - currently it only shows the ground model where the vertices were clicked often means the displayed levels bare little resemblance to the actual ground levels. Would be better if this was default to color fill below either the actual DEM levels (i.e. sampled at regular, small intervals) or colour below the mesh cell level, which is what the actual computation is based on
Thanks for taking the time to raise this and thanks to those who voted. At the moment, we don’t have plans to enable section view without a DEM. It’s a useful idea, but compared to other commitments on our roadmap it sits quite low in priority, so we won’t be progressing it for now.
We’ll keep it noted in case priorities shift in the future, and if you have any additional context on how critical this is for your workflows, feel free to share it.
