Allow grid view produced by a SQL script to interact with GeoPlan so users can right click on SQL elements and zoom to/navigate to the selection on the GeoPlan.

I have just carried out a bit of testing on this, and it looks like the software currently doesn't work quite as robustly as would be hoped. I created a simple SQL to create a grid (in this case just all conduits in my model which are 150mm wide - first attached image). If you run an SQL like this, it initially works as expected, with a new results grid popping up, and as the first commenter said, at this point you can select rows from the grid, then right-click in the GeoPlan to zoom to them.
However, the issue I have encountered, is that as soon as you do anything to the model, e.g. add a new node, change a flag, add a new background layer - anything that registers as an uncommitted 'change', this will break the connection between the SQL grid and the GeoPlan, and rows selected in the SQL grid no longer show up in the GeoPlan and are no longer selected so can't be navigated to. I also tested a second version of this SQL, where the SQL itself contains a network change after the table is created, and this has the same issue - after running this SQL, you cannot select objects from the grid in the GeoPlan.
So while it is technically true that for an very brief moment this functionality 'already exists', I would say that due to the fact this functionality breaks at the slightest touch, the original product idea is still valid, and should not be flagged as 'already exists'.
Plus I still agree with the original poster that I still like the idea of being able to right-click into the SQL grid and be able to "Select and find in GeoPlan", as you can do from a regular object grid window. A big gripe with the software is lack of internal consistency (e.g. with selecting, searching, resizing, copy/pasting, all sorts of things), so trying to bring more consistency will make things less frustrating.
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks to those who voted.
As suggested by my colleague, this feature already exists and therefore, I will update the status of this idea accordingly.
Give it a try and let us know how you get on and if that did not work for you, please feel free to provide more details on the main desired objectives so we can reconsider this idea.
While you cannot use right click directly from the SQL results grid to navigate to the selection on the GeoPlan, very similar functionality does exist.
This workflow may meet your needs - Make a selection in the SQL results grid, then toggle back to the GeoPlan. Right-click in the GeoPlan and choose Zoom to selection.
