In ICM, files added through the GIS layer control dialog are displayed below the objects. Could you add a feature to display them above the objects?
For example, when representing roads with shp files, displaying these backgrounds above the objects would hardly obstruct the view of the objects. In fact, it is often preferable to see them at the same time. While I understand that moving the fill display bar of polygon objects to the left allows the GIS layer files to be visible, this method makes the colors of the polygon objects faint and difficult to distinguish.
By displaying the GIS layer files above the objects, it is possible to see both the background and the clearly color-coded objects.
I've got the same requests from my clients, and the reason was rather to display the flood theme and GIS layers at the same time. When 2D meshes are colored with a theme, they will hide a background layer underneath. Users can make the theme transparent so that the layer is also shown, but it will make the theme unclear slightly. Here in Japan, it is quite common to set different colours for a set of flooding depths, and if we can choose to display GIS layers on top of network objects, it will be quite useful.
