Support for ArcEngine Functions for background layers (no x32 bit support)

The current x64 version of ICM cannot use the ArcEngine / ArcGIS Desktop funcionality, in contrast to previous x32 bit versions of ICM. Since only x64 bit version is now supported, this feature cannot be used. It is one of the most important features when rendering background basemaps / aerials, with many organisations using ArcGIS Servers to publish open data.

The current work around for WMS layers are not quick and provide a difficult interim process to manage, particularly for basemaps.

Please consider this as an urgent idea to implement in the x64 version.

Thank you for the suggestion and thanks to those who voted. I am pleased to announce that we've just released the first set of Esri integration capabilities which will alow you to:

Add multiple GIS layers to your GeoPlan, including:

    Web map

    Shapefile

    Raster image

    File geodatabase

Import data from shapefile GIS layers by selecting a source type of “GeoPlan Layer” in the Open Data Import Center

Import/export to enterprise geodatabases hosted via Microsoft SQL Server

I invite you to read the following blog and watch a video of how this is now working in ICM, WS Pro and InfoAsset Manager

    https://www.autodesk.com/blogs/water/2025/09/09/autodesk-and-esri-partnership-expands-with-new-infoworks-icm-and-infoworks-ws-pro-integrations/

We're still working with our Esri partners to improve this integration, so I will mark the status of this as "In Progress".
