For models that need significant run time up for antecedent conditions, or for long-term continuous rainfall simulations where we just need specific events for the network results, we have found the episode collection with run-off only between events, as well as the warm-up option useful.
However, if they are limited to needing the same timestep in the runoff only sections as the full model runs than they are simply impractical. Then we need hot starts instead and to break runs up instead. We need to save simulation time as well as space. We need to run 10 years worth of continuous rainfall on networks that might need a 30s timestep. Two timesteps for each simulation type would be a great help.
