Customization of Grid Windows in InfoWorks ICM

Allow custom grid window layouts in InfoWorks ICM, much like the Property window. Allow the user to reorganize the columns, change the column widths, or hide unnecessary columns, and save it as a layout to be applied as a default.

The number of columns increases over time as new features are added which makes grids harder to work with. A previous comment says there is already a facility to save the grid layout. However, the order can be changed but there is no 'hide column' option in menus.

Subcatchments have a vast number of columns but most of them are not relevant so would benefit most from being able to hide columns. Rather than hide columns individually, Database or User Settings could provide a place to allow the modeller to pick the the runoff model(s) they want to use and this could in bulk hide the irrelevant fields in the Subcatchment grid. We always use absolute for contributing areas so the Runoff areas as %age are 12 columns which we have never used in ICM.

After over 3 years, it seems this suggestion is simply not gaining any traction, yet it seems it would be a relatively simple programming exercise,

it would be good if we could hide and rearrange columns according to the user preferences so that it's easier to review the grid layout

Regarding Save grid layout: I find that columns I don't need cannot be hidden as that option is greyed out (as is hide empty tabs). In fact, I'm struggling to find any columns I can hide, which then makes no point in trying save the grid layout (but most likely I'm doing something wrong).

Agree that "Save grid layout' already exists - the customisation I'd like to see to Grid Windows is "Hide empty tabs" by default; who wants to see empty tabs 99% of the time??

It will also be good to automatically hide non relevant fields such as if Wallingford/ New UK runoff model is used all other parameter for other models are switched off etc

Would also be great if the template(s) could be saved to a database object(s) to make switching between workflows much less cumbersome. Same applies to the properties window layout.

Yes please. It would make reviewing results much simpler without having the display of many, many irrelevant columns.
