Thanks for the suggestion and thanks to those who voted.

You can export cross section lines from the Open Data Export Centre, please give this a try and let us know how you get on and whether exporting cross sections to shape files will address your workflow that you have in mind.

In the meantime, I will move this to "Already Exist" until I hear from you.
