Copying view from one network to another

It would be useful to be able to take the view from one open network (X, Y and Zoom level) and apply it quickly to another network - e.g. to do a quick visual comparison between the two networks.

Interesting idea.   Could I ask you to clarify the visual comparison task;  e.g What are you comparing?

I would support this idea. I could visualise something that if you opened two networks together the two windows view would be locked temporarily. So that the view on both networks are mirrored and the object labels are mirrored. As often we have so much clicking between objects/windows to work out what's changed or interrogate results. Thanks

I use a selection list for this purpose. It doesn't allow precise control of the extents, but it does accomplish the goal of identical XY and Zoom when applied to a network and "zoom to selection". You can use objects in two opposite corners of the extents you want.

The visual comparison could be anything - just comparing the network layout, or looking at data in user labels or using the info tool etc etc. It's just easier to do that if the networks can be quickly centred at the same co-ordinates and have the same zoom scale.

Since I submitted this, one of my colleagues suggested an extension of this, so you could "lock" views of more than one network and they would zoom, pan etc in sync.
