Thank you for the suggestion and thanks to those who voted. If I understood this correctly, the pipe names are preserved when you go from InfoDrainage to Civil 3D but they get autogenerated when you go from Civil 3D to InfoDrainage and the request here is to preserve the pipe names so you don't have to rename them in any software.
I am pleased to announce that this is now under consideration to be implemented in a future release of InfoDrainage. We will keep you updated with the progress of this and we will let you know as soon as this is launched.
