InfoWorks ICM currently computes intermediate hydraulic states within pipes using the “minimum computational nodes” setting but does not visualize these results in the HGL, instead interpolating between manhole levels; enabling display of HGL using these computed internal nodes would provide a more realistic representation of within-pipe hydraulics, improve diagnostics of surcharging and gradually varied flow, and benefit modelers performing detailed system assessments; this could be implemented as an optional visualization setting that plots HGL along pipes based on intermediate computational points rather than node-to-node interpolation.
