Cloud models can have locally referenced GIS data that makes portability difficult. An external GIS file (VPN path or network access data) referenced into a cloud database is not accessible if others don't have access to that same VPN path or network data.

Thanks for raising this. You’re right that locally referenced GIS data can create portability issues when working with cloud models.
We don’t plan to address this directly as a separate feature, as this area will be partially covered through the ESRI integration work already underway. That effort is intended to improve how GIS data is managed and accessed across teams, which should resolve the underlying issue you’ve described.
