Easily recognise and distinguish between individual user and shared actions (without having to hover over and look at the name) - everyone producing a nice piece of code would want a cute, unique icon in the GUI of their colleagues as the cherry on the cake, right? In the 'Shared Custom Actions' dialog box, there would be a browse to ICO / PNG file entry, or you just put the ICO / PNG in the same place as your Ruby script, with the same name.
