I don't know exactly what the original author was thinking. But WaterGEMS has a great tool called Quick Graph. You open a Quick Graph and it stays open on top. Then whenever you click on a facility, it automatically graphs the results for that facility. There is a drop down in the Quick Graph to change between results like Flow, Velocity, etc. It is very convenient for quickly comparing results between different locations without having to open and close windows.
Can you please share any specifics that you'd like to see improved in Stored graphs?
