To enable Info360 Plant to transfer a "status" for channels, allowing users to establish when a critical channel is missing data.
Current Situation: Info360 Plant currently has value mapping capabilities, but there are limitations:
Setting the value mapping to 0 upon missing data allows the calculation of analytics without considering the asset missing data.
Filling the timeseries with zeros might not be appropriate as it may not represent the correct value.
Proposed Solution:
Establish a mechanism to indicate the lack of data using a binary status.
Use this binary status to bypass the asset from analytic calculations.
Trigger alerts based on the binary status indicating the lack of data.
Rationale:
In Distributed Control Systems (DCS), sensors typically provide multiple channels (e.g., process value and signal status).
If the sensor status is wrong, analytics should bypass the sensor and trigger an alarm indicating the wrongful status.
Implementing a similar approach in Info360 Plant would ensure accurate analytics and timely alerts for missing data.
