The first step toward industrial optimization is establishing a baseline performance. In plants, histograms visualize historical performance statically. The shape of KPI histograms allows quickly establishing operation performance, i.e. high variability indicates poor performance, hence an opportunity for improvement. A bi-modal histogram may indicate multiple operation regimes.
Adding histograms as a feature (together with mean, median, and variability) will allow customers quickly assessing and monitoring KPI performance, hence identifying needs for optimization.
